Brent Squires has a passion for pointing people toward Jesus. He has dedicated the last twenty-plus years of his life to pastoral ministry. As an experienced pastor, teacher, and leader, Brent has used his expertise in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and team development in ways that make disciples.
As a former Associate Pastor of a 2,500+ multi-site church, Brent served alongside of the Executive Pastor in every area from multi-site campus development, strategic plan installation, creating staff culture, project management, staff development, and strategic generosity initiatives. He has had oversight of multiple ministries including Children’s, Students, College, Men’s, Women’s, Care/Mercy, Celebrate Recovery, and Family. Brent knows how to build collaborative teams, create systems that lead to discipleship, and develop leadership pipelines that generate the next level of ministry leaders.
As the Student Ministry Pastor at Bay Area Community Church, Brent provides leadership and development for three campus student ministry directors. He directly manages a staff of seven as well as almost 100 volunteers at the hub campus. His ministry consists of over 300 middle, high and college age students representing 30 area schools. Recently, he helped design, oversee construction, and now, manages a 25,000 square foot student ministry renovation/new construction build.
Before hearing God’s call to full-time pastoral ministry, Brent worked for the Washington Redskins where he was primarily responsible for overseeing all luxury seating at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland. It was while with the Redskins that Brent honed his organizational and event planning skills as he managed both paid staff and interns during all Redskin football games and FedEx Field special events.
Brent’s educational background has served him well. He received his M.A. in Human Services with a concentration in Executive Leadership, as well as a B.S. in Sport Administration/Business from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Between these degrees, he pursued his theological training from Fuller Theological Seminary’s Institute of Youth Ministry, as well as Washington Bible College’s EQUIP Certificate program. He continues to be a life-long-learner in areas of student ministry, leadership development, strategical planning, assimilation, and multi-site development.
Brent and his wife Patti have been married since 1992, and have three children, Paul, Timothy, and Lauren. He enjoys reading, running, watching football, and spending time with good friends. He was born in Washington, DC, and raised in southern-Maryland.
